Lights!

I went to the National Christmas Tree Lighting last week with my roommate Jenni and our friend Danny. It was very cold, but we enjoyed our time trying to see the famous people from where we were standing afar off. My favorite moment of the evening was hearing Sheryl Crow sing "There is a Star That Shines Tonight." I immediately started to tear up when she announced that this song was for the troops that are far from home this Christmas. It made me think of my little brother, Phil, who is a Marine currently stationed in Afghanistan. I am grateful for his service to our country and that he stands ready to defend our freedom and seek for peace. I will miss his fun smiling face this Christmas and will pray each morning and evening for his safety.

I get really excited for Christmas decorations each year and this year I have not been disappointed. I went to Columbus, Ohio with Bree and her roommate Marin and we were wowed with some pretty incredible displays.
