A Week in Rexburg

Over a week ago I went up to Rexburg with Eric and Dad to help Fred and his family move to their new house. We spent a lot of sweaty hours moving stuff from their townhouse to their new house a few miles away (and I cannot believe how much stuff they packed into their storage in the "basement")!! After about 2 days of moving we finally had everything over to their new house and Cammie and I started to unpack and organize while the guys whipped up a chainlink fence around the yard. I am in love with their house and with their yard and had a fantastic time being with them and playing with their kids. Here are some photos from the memorable week.

These first few pictures are from the HUGE slip-n-slide that we went to one night. Fred's ward was having a Young Men & Young Women's combined activity here and I am so happy that we were able to join them. Unforunately it started to rain a half hour into it, but not before I took Alex down on my lap about 4 times.

Fred and Cammie have 23 chickens in their yard and we got to enjoy eggs quite often. Here is Sammie checking the eggs for the day.

Alex absolutely LOVES the trampoline! Any moment he could get out there, he was on it. He would sometimes grab my hand and pull me out there so we could jump together. This was hands down my favorite thing about this trip. My little Bud Bud and I had so much fun on the tramp. He especially loved when I held him and we jumped together.

He's pointing to his water here because he was getting thirsty from all the jumping. Alex still doesn't talk much but I definitely know when he wants his water because he makes this sound "ahhh." (The sound one makes after taking a big refreshing gulp of water when dehydrated).

Now jumping with Grandpa.

KK is taking a giant leap and Sammie is taking a rest.

The kids' playset

The beautiful garden!

Looking out over their small pasture.

On Friday night Fred had an improv show at BYU-I. Just outside the building there is a little stream and waterfall that Sammie and I went to check out after the show. And as it turns out, the sprinklers were on so we couldn't pass up running through them. Here is Sammie by the waterfall.

Sammie, Katelyn and Alex getting ready to go to Yellowstone. Don't they look thrilled?!

First scenes of Yellowstone. It was breathtakingly beautiful. I wish I could just live there!

And now the model shots at our first stop (just outside the restroom).

Somebody feels left out. I had to laugh at this little boy.

More of Sammie's professional modeling poses.

It's kind of hard to see, but there's a little chipmunk in this picture close to Fred's hand.

Now off to the Paint Pots. This is the picturesque scenery you see before the Paint Pots.

It's smelly! Sammie holding her nose.

So stinky.

 But so beautiful.

Can you see the bubbles?

"Adjay, what does this say?" I got that a lot, but happy to help.

Headed to Old Faithful.

Inside the lodge. I love these.

Waiting for Old Faithful.

Checking out our painted nails.

There she blows!
(Thanks Dad for taking these pics of Old Faithful)

Sammie & Katelyn earned their Junior Ranger badges. By the end of it all, Sammie was a bit tired.

So hot!

Watching Old Faithful, again.

Hmm, I wonder what these Asians are so excited about.

Oh, this elk. Granted we really didn't see too much wildlife while at the park.

Creeper.

Taking a stroll down the street.

Boiling water running into the river. So beautiful.

Horse track.

Adding to bucket list: take a ride in this notch above awesome vehicle.

This burger was huge! Four of us shared one. The picture doesn't do it justice.

He was literally saying "cheeeeese." So cute.

Ice cream in the car. Is this a good idea?

This boy thinks so.

Thanks Fred, Cammie, Katelyn, Samantha and Alexander. Loved the house, family time, trampoline, cool weather, games, giggles, slip-n-slide, Yellowstone, dinner with Krugman, improv comedy, fresh air and reading to my nieces. One key element of the week that I cannot leave out was the daily games of Plants vs. Zombies with Alex on the iPad. At times he would ask for my help and I was more than happy to oblige. Here's to a week of P v. Z! (I might be addicted).

  1. I LOVE yellowstone, looks like not much has changed. And there is always a bison or 2 holding up traffic. You can tell they love doing it. Awesome trip, you are probably the most fun aunt ever.
